The Powwow, Heritage and Bridal Veil Falls Excursion
This itinerary begins with an official welcome and greeting 'Anishnaabe Style' by a local Chief along with The Great Spirit Circle Trail representatives.

Following this brief welcome will be a guided thirty minute coach transfer from the downtown Little Current dock to the First Nation community know in Ojibwe as the M'Chigeeng First Nation.

Welcome Stops include an architecturally interesting Roman Catholic Church which incorporates elements of native tradition in both the design and content. Guests will then embark to the nearby Ojibwe Cultural Foundation for a sweetgrass welcoming ceremony in the cultural lodge of this state-of-the-art facility. Visitors are greeted at the eastern doorway and the depiction of the spirit "Shaman Family" before entering this new architectural concept featuring a museum, art gallery and gift shop. A presentation of the culture will be shared on the traditions of the Ojibwe, Odawa and Pottowatomi peoples of the local region. Visitors will follow with a guided tour of the museum and allowed an opportunity to browse in the gift shop.

The next portion of the tour will be to the out of doors and the beautiful powwow grounds located in this First Nation community.

Traditional aboriginal dance Guests will enjoy a narrated traditional aboriginal dance and drum presentation and marvel at the kaleidoscope of colourful craft work, regalia and singing. The beat of the drum and the powerful song of the singers is graced by the dancers as they gather in celebration of life. The very nature of the gathering welcomes all people. Guests are invited to join in on an intertribal dance. A Master of Ceremonies will provide detailed explanations of the various dance styles and powwow etiquette. Guests will receive a token gift and refreshments.

Bridal Veil Falls The final transfer will be to beautiful picturesque Bridal Veil Falls in Kagawong and a photographing opportunity. Stretch your legs and enjoy the wooded-setting and meandering trail along the Kagawong River from spectacular Bridal Veil Falls.

We bid a fond farewell and shed a few tears as we start our journeys home with fond memories of our Experiences of the Past while Enjoying the Present!
