Fishing

Some of the best fishing in Northern Ontario is available on Manitoulin Island and in the waters at the foot of the La Cloche Mountains in the Sagamok region. Anglers can expect excellent fishing for Bass, Northern Pike, Trout, Muskie, Walleye, and Perch.

Fishing licenses - Ontario and Canadian residents must have an outdoors card to purchase a fishing license. You must purchase a tag and affix it to the outdoor card. Non residents must purchase a non-resident sport fishing license. They do not need an outdoor card. For more info call 1 800 667-1940.

Guides – knowledgeable and friendly guides are available in the area First Nations communities.

Experience seasonal gill netting for whitefish on the "big water" (fall) or under the ice (winter) using traditional methods. Enjoy a fish fry, learn how to smoke fish and, in the spring, make maple syrup.
