There are seven First Nation communities on Manitouin Island and their names are:

Aundeck Omni Kaning
Aundeck Omni Kaning – known for the North Channel Islands

M'Chigeeng
M'Chigeeng – known for its culture and arts


Sheguiandah – known for history and cultural teachings

Sheshegwaning
Sheshegwaning – known for its wilderness and trails

Whitefish River
Whitefish River – renown for its unique geology and islands

Wikwemikong – known for contemporary culture and performing arts

Zhiibaahaasing
Zhiibaahaasing – known for its big water and salmon fishing

Sagamok
And an eighth First Nation community located on the north shore of Lake Huron – the Sagamok Anishinabek is part of the Great Spirit Circle Trail as well. The Sagamok Anishnabek is renown for its wilderness and waterways.
